All Scouts and Scouters must renew their membership in the Boy Scouts of America yearly. Please review this letter and complete the attached registration form. All FOUR steps are needed to complete your recharter. See below for turn-in dates. There is a separate email attachment with your Scout’s account balance and Scouter YPT data. Please note: YPT taken before January 1, 2013 MUST be renewed for recharter.

1. Membership Fee Payment
The total Troop fees this are $145. Included in our base fee is one registered adult per family. Many families choose to register two parents, which costs an additional $25.00.
The current fees are:
Scout National BSA registration, “Boys’ Life”, insurance $ 37.00
Troop awards and recognition $ 30.00
Troop activities, facilities equipment and supplies $ 30.00
Trailer and storage fees $ 23.00
Adult National BSA registration, “Scouting”, insurance $ 25.00
Total fee for first scout in family $145.00
Second scout in family (does not include adult registration or Boy’s Life) $105.00
Additional adult registration $25.00
Additional “Boys’ Life” subscription $12.00
If your son’s scout account balance has funds, this number will be emailed to you separately, and can be used to reduce fees.
2. Registration/Volunteer Form
We are asking each family to get involved by leading or co-leading a Troop activity or camp-out or serve in an ongoing adult leadership role. Previous year’s activity leaders or those in ongoing positions are happy to share their experiences and provide support. Every adult volunteer has something valuable to offer and there’s an abundance of roles to fill. If you would like to discuss possibilities, adult leaders will be available at any Troop meeting or at recharter turn-ins.
3. Youth Protection Training
Every registered adult must have a current YPT (Youth Protection Training) certificate on file. YPT certification lasts for two years. If you took YPT beforeJanuary 1, 2013, you must re-take YPT at this time. YPT can be completed online through a video class that lasts about 15-20 minutes. The link for on-line training is: www.myscouting.org Please provide a copy of your YPT card by email to[email protected] or hard copies may be submitted with recharter fees.

4. Medical Forms
Every registered scout and registered adult MUST turn in a NEW medical form with their re-charter. NO Re-Charters will be accepted without medical forms. Even if you have recently turned in medical forms, we must receive New forms with your recharter. For record keeping purposes, please date medical forms no earlier thanNovember 15. Forms must be scanned and emailed to [email protected]. Parts A&B are needed for regular scout activities. For long term camp, part C is also needed.
